Gregnog
This is the best eggnog. It’s not thick like a milkshake but it still has body. It’s extremely strong which balances the sweet. I really think it’s the best in the biz. It’s for that reason that during a particularly low moment in in quarantine in May of this past year, we made it. Christmas is a state of mind, right?
Here’s another thing: this eggnog is very good aged. Don’t freak out. There is so much alcohol in it that it preserves the dairy. Fill a bottle all the way to the top with as little air in it as you can possibly manage, seal it tight and tuck it away at the back of the fridge for next Christmas – or next May.
Gregory's Eggnog
Yield: 2.5 Litres

Ingredients
- 12 egg yolks
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 qt (4 cups) whole milk
- 750ml bourbon
- 1 cup dark rum
- 1 cup cognac or good brandy
- Pinch of Kosher salt
- Freshly ground nutmeg for the top
Recipe
- Whisk egg yolks and sugar together.
- Add cream and milk. Whisk.
- Add liquors. Whisk.
- Add salt. Whisk.
- Store in a tightly sealed bottle filled to the top (if aging).
- Serve topped with a little grated nutmeg.
